Los Angeles International Airport officially became the airport of Los Angeles on October of 1928. LAX, is the 6th busiest airport in the world, serving nearly 59 million passengers a year. It also is the 5th busiest in the world in terms of arrivals and departures with nearly 635,000 a year. American Airlines has made them self comfortable at LAX.
